Dear 8th grade self, get all your work that you have missed when you are absent for a day or two. or you miss classes. Help fellow classmates but also make sure all your work is done first. Enjoy school but also do ALL your work while having a good time. Follow up all your responsibilities and you will be okay. GOOD LUCK 🙂

Dear Oli,

For your eighth grade year you need to have a fun time and enjoy yourself because it is your last year before you go off to high school. However, you need to make sure you do not rush through it and make lots of careless mistakes. Take your time and do everything right. Study every night and do your homework quickly but accurately. Last year was good, but let’s make this year even better. No A-‘s. Straight A’s throughout the whole year. When you are doing something, DO NOT get distracted. Focus and get the job done and you will have time to do something else. Have friends round, relax, take a chill. But you have to focus while you are in school and out. Try your hardest at what you are doing and always do your best! Good luck for next year and have fun !

Sincerely,

            Oli

Future of Technology&Robots-Xav

I beieve that robots will be a major part of our future. Scientists and inventors have really progressed in the technology of robots. They are becoming more and more humanlike in the way they look so like humans except for a few distinct details, the way they move, and the way they speak. Robots are so developed that they respond to questions that are asked by real humans. They will interact with the human for different things that the robot is programmed for. Doctors and surgeons have robots that assist in surgerys and even take the place of the surgeon at times. I think that they(robots) were oriniginally designed out of curiosity. Then I think that they were being invented to make us(humans) do less work and be lazy while we(humans) push buttons and fiddle around with remotes to control the robot. We watched a video in our class that showed how in a pediatric hospital in Japan, the doctors send in two robots(male and female) to communicate and interact with the young kids who can not see through the bluff. Then we watched another video that showed a robot created by the engineers at Ford that was interactig with the audience. One man aske th robot to shake his hand and the robot replied “No, I am not allowed to interact with other humans.” The future with robots seems scary but I think if we learn to work with them we will have a great future wrking with the robots.

I think that if you play online real, but “fake” games such as Second Life you are wasting your life and not giving something a chance to make something of yourself. You have to try with something and you never know, it may somehow give you an opportunity on the near future to do something great, change your whole life around. You just have to try. If money is a problem, then start small and work your way up to the top. Don’t rely on a computer to make a living. Use yourself to do it.

At my swim practice my friends play a game called League of Legends or LoL for short. Whenever one of them starts to talk about it the all join in on the conversation, going on and on about what power-ups or people they bought with money who earn in the game. Only me and my friend don’t play LoL. Once they start to talk you cannot stop them, so me and my friend move away. Now they are not addicted to the game and their life does not revolve around it but I, think they play too much. They at least play one game a day, and one game lasts about half – an – hour to an hour. They play too MUCH!

It is not important to know how to do arithmetic because calculators are everywhere.

I fully disagree with this statement because you use arithmetic in your everyday life. Yes it is true that calculators are everywhere. On phones, the internet, ipads, computer, wrist watches, pencils, and even clip boards. And it is most likely that a couple years from now high schools and colleges will have an ipad for every student. The text books will be on the ipads, you will be able to access everything that you need on an eletrical based object. However what happens in life when you don’t have your handy-dandy little watch or ipad within your arms reach?

You NEED to know how to do math. As simple as two plus two all the way through to how to factoring polynomials.

“Arithmetics is the helping hand on all occasions with or without our consciousness. Numerals , the digits , logical rules and concepts, +,-,X and / -are some of the basic components  of the great this subject.” says

Neela from Math DIsscusion. I aggree with Neela, arithmatics is used by people everyday of their life without them even knowing it. If you are an adult and you work at lets say . . . Safeway and you job is the cashier, and you don’t know how to do math and the computer thatd does all the math for you fails. What are you going to do? You have no idea how much change the customer should get back in return for the money the gave you. Wherease if you know math, you know exactly how much money the customer gave you and you know how much to give them back.

To summarize, the fact is, if you don’t know arithmetic then you won’t get very far in life You will have to rely on you little handy-dandy calculator or ipad or watch or what ever does math for you. From adding simpe numbers like two plus two to factoring polynomials. YOU HAVE TO KNOW ARITHMATICS!!!!! No matter what the case, where you are, from how old to how young you are, you need to know, simple to complicated. It does not matter what, you just need to know arithmetics. It is a FACT!

OMG! I got tickets to the 2012 Summer Olympics!!!!!! It was December 25, 2011. Christmas Day and my mom, dad, and I were sitting down at the table in the dining room in my house. The food was already on the table and we were all hungry, but first we would break the crackers. There was three, one for each of us. My mom and dad looked excited to open the crackers for some reason, I wondered why . . . My dad wanted to break the first cracker with me so, we did. When it went BANG!   First I looked for the hat and put it on. Next I looked for the joke, when I found it I read it aloud. Lastly I looked for the “gift” which was a hand held whistle. I looked at my parents and they looked really disappointed for some reason. They said to look into the big part of the cracker that was left, and so picking it up I looked inside of it. Something colorful was rolled up inside. As I pulled it out it was red, white, and a little blue with some white writing on it. As I looked at it closer I say for the first time what it was….. …………..  There were tickets, tickets to the 2012 Summer Olympics in London! I was amazed! How much effort and money it would have taken to get the tickets. As I looked what events I saw that one of them was the Men’s 200 meter butterfly. The most amazing and famous event, and I was going to see it, real live at the Olympics. How amazing was that! I could not believe it! It was just like, one hundred eighty days until it started, buuuuuuuutttt we would leave a few days before it started because we would need to pack and that takes up a couple days, plus play some xbox, because  it would be the last in a while, PLUS, flying which takes a whole day………. So……. … it would really be something like one hundred seventy days. the date right now is May 30, 2012 just something like fifty eight days left till we will go to the airport and catch our four o’clock flight straight to London for our three week stay in my parent’s friend’s house. We have four tickets, two for swimming, one for gymnastics, and one for beach volleyball.  I CAN NOT WAIT TO GO TO LONDON IN THE SUMMER OF 2012 TO SEE THE OLYMPICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
